What are E-CTFs?
Many manufacturers using the ENEC Scheme operate testing laboratories equipped with skilled personnel, advanced facilities and the necessary equipment to test the types of product for which they are responsible in terms of design, development and production.
To meet market needs and leverage these facilities, procedures have been established for obtaining the ENEC Mark under controlled conditions. These procedures offer an alternative to testing at a third-party Testing Laboratory (TL).
An E-CTF (European Customer’s Testing Facility) is a testing facility owned by a manufacturer who has full responsibility for ensuring continuous compliance with the relevant requirements of EN ISO/IEC 17025, as well as all applicable ENEC Scheme Operational Documents and OSM decisions.
It’s important to note that the term “E-CTF” may be used without specifying “European Customer’s Testing Facility,” as these facilities can also be located outside Europe.
